7th-Year Itch

What do you do when you experience an itch? You going scratching, of course!

But in the right way ok?

After seven years of dating, Clem and I married. Now, we are married for seven years. I teased him, "Seven years already. Itchy or not?" "Yes, very itchy. Let's have another baby!" Beep, beep (but censor broke down)... Hope the above dialogue is not too R(A)!

I really don't know how my life would turn out without Clem. He's been such a pillar in my life. I'm especially thankful, cos I know I'm not an easy person to live with. I have high expectations, a sharp tongue, hate housework and chores, and literally depend on him for many things. Yet he loves me unconditionally, and gives me all he can to see me happy. I truly know from him, that love is not just an emotion but an action.

HIs love to me is extended to my family. He is a good son to my parents. Whenever my parents needed to go anywhere, he'd play chauffeur. During my mom's battle with cancer and treatment, he chauffeured her to the hospital whenever he could. When the housemen acted unprofessionally, he was there to give them a dressing down and made sure my mom received good treatment and service. When the hospital lapsed in its processes, he took the case with the hospital going up to the Medical Affairs and MP. His love for my parents touch me tremendously. I could never imagine I deserve someone like him.

I'm really grateful to God for giving me such a wonderful gift. May I will always be reminded to love him with gentleness and tenderness. Not exactly how I will normally be described. But I'll try.

6th Wedding Anniversary Dinner @ Morton's

A really good excuse for us to get out and have a nice dinner. Clem is into good steak so we thought we'd try Morton's the Steakhouse.

My thoughts kept hinging around our kids and whether there was enough milk to feed Verity back home. Guilt overcame me as I sipped the almond liquer and lychee martini. Come on, Clem goaded, just relax and enjoy our time together. Yeah, he was right, it was our time alone together.

Great to just spend the time chatting and wowing every now and then, like some suaku when the waitress did a menu presentation or brought us our food. Felt like our dating days again.

These days, even when we had our time alone together, it was usually spent speed-shopping, meal-gobbling, grocery-grabbing as we stole 1 or 2 hours away from our kids, cos I would need to go back and breastfeed.

Tonight, just let go. I've stored enough milk for the day.

Our personalised menu (our wedding date is not 23 Nov, but it was indicated as such cos we dined on that day)

Yummy onion and egg loaf. Enough to eat on its own.

Lobster bisque that tasted a bit bitter, probably bcos of the wine

Sauteed wild mushrooms which ended up looking like black fried carrot cake in the photo.

This was actually half a portion of the prime rib. Imagine how big the actual one was. We each took a half. It was cooked so nicely that I even gobbled up the fat which had a nice chewy texture.

Complimentary Morton chocolate cake with Haagen Daz ice cream and card with our photo

5th Wedding Anniversary

This year, I hit the big "3". Looking back, I had spent almost half my life with Dar. We started dating since we were 17. Now, 13 years into our relationship, we are still very much in love. I thank God for this blessing. Many friends and colleagues have also commented that he's such a sweet hubby!

Our celebrations was simple this year. But to commemorate the 5th-year milestone, we wanted a more permanent gift. Dar suggested having a tattoo- permanent what, he said. My concern was, will I be able to explain to our kids when they grow, and to the kids in church, and to our pre-believing friends. Of course, it's up to our conviction but if there's a chance of it being a stumbling block, I'd rather not risk it.

So we got each other a ring. I got a better deal. His is silver, mine white gold with diamonds. Haha.
